GENERAL

This is probably one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.  Not because the hotel itself is extremely luxurious, but it's a combination of a new and expansive facility with a well-designed layout at a nice and relaxing location.  It's a resort that I would come back to.

PRO

The newly remodeled rooms, which are more like condos, are extremely spacious, clean and comfortable.  The furtniture and beddings are the usual Westin cool and luxurious.  Because each room only has a few neighbors, much like a Residence Inn, it's more quiet and private than a regular hotel; however, there were lots of partying people and doors face the hall way leading to other rooms, so we heard people having a good time on their way back to their rooms.

The resort has such great amenities that guests don't have to go far for fun.  It's hard to visit this resort without playing in its pool or the golf course.  It's a pretty nice golf course, althogh it's not a professional one.  The pool was real fun for the kids since it has a kiddy pool and a water slide.  There are also several bars and service stations conveniently spread out around the pool.  If you are tired of soaking in water, Palm Springs is only 15 min away and there are plenty to do there from shopping, dining to sightseeing - can't really complain about the location.

CON

The first problem you'd notice at this hotel would be that parking spaces near the rooms are hard to come by.  I've only stayed there once, but for all three days we had a hard time finding parking spaces close to the hotel because there's obviously not enough parking spaces near by.  It's also a dark parking lot so it's kind of scary even for a guy to walk a long way back to the room passing by a few drunk guests.

The service was overall decent, but for some reason they found LA people to staff the hotel.  Most of the staff aren't really interested in pleasing you.  They just want to get their job done and take off.  Same thing with the restaurant staff.  We ate at a very pleasant cafe with a golf course view, but the waiters really did not more than delivering service when they absolutely had to.

OVERALL

Considering what we paid for, this hotel was a STEAL.  I would probably pay $100 a night and still think I got a good deal here.  I've stayed in other Palm Springs resorts and this one is without any doubt one of the best in the area.  Maybe the five-star resorts would be even better, but you'd also pay a lot more too.

Pro - Spacious rooms, big beds, plenty of space to run around, kiddy pool!!

Con - Contemporary furtniture with LOTS of sharp corners, marble bathroom gets very slippery.
