Fairfield Inn Lithonia, Georgia (near Atlanta) Stayed On: July 2007Published Internet Rate: $115 - Stayed at this rate Constructed 2007 (yes BRAND news!!) Orbitz Rating: 2 Stars / MC Rating:
GENERAL I typically don't like to write reviews for hotels that are almost like motels - unless there's something that really impressed me, like a great location (say near a mall?) or very new (like built in 2007). If that's what you are looking for while visiting Atlanta or Emory, this is your hotel! GOOD LOCATION: Very close to the freeway exit and right next to a mall. If you are visit East Atlanta, it's a great spot to stay. Plenty of parking right in front of it. COMFORT: It's a new hotel and everything's new and well-built. The bed and bathroom are not that great, but they are new so I can't complain much..... Staff also friendly (southern!) and attentive. BAD ROOM: The furnishing's new but kind of strange. Everything looks very light, unlike the typical Marriott style. There's a wall in the room that has NOTHING attached and it's not decorated. Looks very strange (so strange I forgot to take a picture of it!). AMENITIES: The gym and swimming pool (yes they do have one) are TINY - one guy smells bad and the whole place stinks. I can't complain much about this either because it is, after, an "inn" and there is a big mall next to it. OVERALL This is a nice and safe bet for anyone visiting East Atlanta. Not the greatest value out there, but it's new so that explains why the Holiday Inn two exits down costs $80 (because it's like 20 years old!!!). Enjoy the hot waffle (if you can make one) and be sure to try the restaurants around the mall! Family-Friendliness Rating: Pro - Pool! Friendly staff, good size room, free breakfast, mall next to it Con - Small bath tub, small lobby and common area to run around
